This is just a quick update to resolve some issues I’ve been getting feedback about from the first beta.  There’s no new storyline updates in this version, but there’s a bit of content updates just because it happened to already be written in before I put out the patches.  From here out, I will be working on storyline updates until the next version. 🙂


Change Log:

  • Fixed a bug where Frank never stops fighting even after Patrick is knocked out.
  • Made the response options font a bit smaller (for smaller resolutions)
  • Added physics to interactive objects (you can now drop them anywhere)
  • Added sound effects for when some inventory objects are dropped.
  • Fixed a few other bugs

User Controls:

  • W, S – Move forward/back
  • A, D – Strafe left/right
  • C, Z – Crouch/Stand
  • Alternately, hold down both mouse buttons to move forward
  • Right Mouse click and drag to move camera
  • Press I or use the icon on the bottom-right for inventory
  • Press Left or Right or use the on-screen arrows to cycle through inventory items
  • Left Click on a character to talk to them.
  • Left Click on an object to interact with it (Must be close enough)
  • Left Click on a dialogue option to select it.
  • Press F1 or use the icon on the bottom-right to pull up the game menu

System Requirements:

  • Windows 7+
  • Graphics card: DX9 (shader model 3.0) capabilities; generally everything made since 2005 should work.
  • CPU: SSE2 instruction set support.
  • Recommended Resolution: 1900 x 1200 or higher.

    The bug fixes are Frank-ly welcome!
    Small issues I’ve noticed:
    * Stephanie’s bounce-physics just went crazy before and even after she fainted, I don’t think I’ve seen this in an earlier version.
    * Photograph items seem to fall through the floor when dropped, maybe due to their flat shape?

      Thanks for the feedback. I’ll check into those couple of things. The photographs are not supposed to be able to be discarded. I need to turn off the option to. They don’t have physics colliders on them so they will fall through the floor.

        I could not reproduce the bouncy madness while Steph is still fully clothed. But when she faints, I can’t help but laugh at this thought: Is the engine trying to snap those bouncy attributes to the floor plane, just like a dropped item? 😀

          I’d have to take a look and see what’s going on, but there are two separate engines driving her breast movement and her ragdoll movement, so they might be conflicting with each other.

            Gonna add to Stephanie’s breast physics when she passes out. Her breast sank through her body and into the floor. was kind of horrifying.

    I am guessing you have to push the shelf down on Frank. Problem for me is he’s right on top of you when you push the shelf that it misses him. Is there a way to tell him to stop in one spot?

      If you tell Frank he must have missed the guy with the booze, he will pause for a few seconds before he heads back to his post guarding the alcohol. That’s your chance!

        I never had any problems hitting Frank with the shelf while he was still in follow mode. Though, my first thought was to lock him up in the garage, since you have the key – maybe that will be an option in a later version.

          Interesting, that could sure be an alternative option. Btw i want to turn the TV on and watch some porn there! haha this could turn off Stephanie music (so she stop dancing) and may add some new storyline or something.

            Not a bad idea. Maybe I’ll build in some interactivity with the TV. Perhaps a remote to find. 🙂

            @Rangel, the music can already be turned off, inspect the right speaker.

    Well for me, when he’ following me, if I stop, he’ll keep walking into me so he’s like pretty much trying to make out with me.

      Once you figure out his pattern of following you, you should be able to position him just right.

        As for positioning, he ended up shifting the rack twice on different playthroughs so far with his hitbox, and could not for the life of me — get him in the right position to push it onto him from that point forward, even after spending an hour just putting him in slightly different positions and trying to push it onto him. Might be a bug? — I’m not entirely sure.

    I can’t seem to maneuver Left or Right. What controls am I doing wrong? or Does it work with mouse?

      The controls are listed at the bottom of this post. Right click and hold and then move the mouse to move the camera around. The controls are loosely based on the World of Warcraft configuration.

    Is there any way to make mouselook work for a Mac? Even with a two button mouse with a wheel I can’t turn direction. So, fridge is out of reach as is cell phone and other door. I’m locked in the direction I face at the start of the game. Great game (I think) otherwise.

      Hmm. I’d have to fire the game up on Mac to see what you’re talking about, but I will take a look. Right now, I only offer the Windows versions of the game, so it’s not really optimized for mac. But the two-buttoned mouse *should* be doing the trick.

        Sorry, I left out a few details: I’m running your game on Parallels with Windows 7 on a Macbook Pro. The mouselook functionality doesn’t work under the emulator(although it is advertised as having almost full functionality. “Almost” covers a lot of sins.) I may be too fringe a user for you to worry about until you do port it to Mac. Thank you for your response. I haven’t tried it on the Mac side yet. I’ll let you know what happens.

          I don’t know if Parallels supports it, but you may want to try setting up a boot camp partition and running that as your emulator. That way, if all else fails, you have the option of booting directly into Windows. I do that with VMWare Fusion and it works great.
